Frequently Asked Questions

How are Markers used in play?

Disc golf markers, as known as “minis”, are used to mark the lie of a previously thrown disc and are required for all regulated tournament play. A marker allows the player to keep track of their playing surface while preparing for their next throw. The playing surface is the space behind your previous thrown that your foot must occupy when throwing your next shot. The playing surface extends approximately 11.8 inches (30 cm) deep and 7.8 inches (20cm) wide, centered behind the rear of the marker disc. A marker is also used so that a player can pick up their disc after throwing.

1. Mark the lie of a previously thrown disc by placing the marker in front of the disc. The marker should be touching the front of the thrown disc and be in the line of play (direction of the basket).

2. Pick up your previously thrown disc and imagine a 12 in x 8 in box behind your marker. This is known as your playing surface. You must have one foot in the playing surface before the release of your next throw.

3. After throwing, pick up your marker and travel to your thrown disc and repeat the process until you have successfully finished the hole.

Clean and Care Instructions

Unlike most flimsy, plastic markers and cheap “metallic” alternatives, a Monomer Marker is designed and manufactured for durability. The aluminum alloy that comprises each and every monomer marker was specifically chosen for its resistance to surface scratches and the formation of rust due to extended periods in excess moisture.

For general maintenance and cleaning purposes , place your Marker under warm water and clean with a soft sponge and dish soap. Avoid using abrasive cleaning materials such as scouring pads or sandpaper as this will inevitably damage the protective coating and possibility scratch the metal. After your Marker is back to its original shine, dry completely, and get ready for your next Disc Golf outing!

We our back commitment to producing the highest quality Disc Golf Markers by offering a full replacement guarantee if your Marker gets damaged! Just reach out to us in the “Contact us” section of our website and we’ll make it right.
